CLOONEY AGREES; HILLARY'S FUND RAISE IS OBSCENE

The day after co-hosting the first of two sold-out fundraising dinners expected to put $15 million in the coffers of Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, actor George Clooney tells NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd “it is an obscene amount of money.”

“The Sanders campaign, when they talk about it, is absolutely right,” Clooney says in an interview taped today and airing tomorrow morning on the Sunday beltway show. “It’s ridiculous that we should have this kind of money in politics. I agree completely.”

Clooney and wife Amal hosted first dinner in San Francisco Friday, with the second planned for tonight in the couple’s L.A. home.

“Yes. I think it’s an obscene amount of money,” Clooney tells Todd. “I think that, you know, we had some protesters last night when we pulled up in San Francisco and they’re right to protest. They’re absolutely right. It is an obscene amount of money.”
