Here was a true outsider who defied the worlds greatest super power and survived.

Both vilified and glorified he withstood the test of time  and  was able to hold on to power to lead his country for 50 years and stand up to 10 US presidents.

Fidel was at the center stage of world events for an extraordinary sweep of time. He seized power in the age of Dwight Eisenhower and remained there until George W. Bush’s second term in office.

He has died in the waning days of the Presidency of Barack Obama, the first American President in all that time to travel to Havana, an event that took place after he and Raúl negotiated a diplomatic breakthrough in 2014.

George Carlin - Political Correctness is fascism pretending to be Manner...

How morbid can you get? Well, it all depends how ell you are at twisting history to fit your reality.

Take Thanksgiving, for example.

We teach our kids that it commemorates the first American settlers having a sit down dinner with their new found friends, the Native Americans Indians.

Well, guess what? That's all made up fairy tale kind of stuff.

What really happened is that the settlers slaughtered the Indians and took their food and land. And that's what the big celebration is really all about.

Historian Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz on Thanksgiving: "It Has Never Been About Honoring Native Americans" | Democracy

It’s never been about honoring Native Americans.

It’s been about the origin story of the United States, the beginning of genocide, dispossession and constant warfare from that time—actually, from 1607 in Jamestown—until the present. It’s a colonial system that was set up.

There’s a sort of annual calendar for this origin story, beginning with Columbus, October 12.

Why celebrate Columbus?

It was the onset of colonialism, the slave trade and dispossession of the Native people of the Americas. So, that is celebrated with a federal holiday.

That’s followed then by Thanksgiving, which is a completely made-up story to say the Native people welcomed these people who were going to devastate their civilizations, which is simply a lie.

And then you go to Presidents’ Days, the Founding Fathers, in February, and celebrate these slaveowners,

Indian killers.

George Washington headed the Virginia militia for the very purpose of killing Native people on the periphery of the colony, before, you know, when it was still a Virginia colony.

And then we have the big day, the fireworks, July 4th, independence, which is probably the most tragic event in world history, because it gave us—it gave the world a genocidal regime under the guise of democracy. And that’s really the historical context that I think we have to see Thanksgiving in, that it is a part of that mythology that attempts to cover up the real history of the United States.

In April 2015, the Clinton campaign held a private dinner party with at least 65 journalists and pundits in attendance. Individuals from CNN, CBS, The New York Times, NBC, MSNBC and more came together under the campaign’s stated goal of “framing the race” to help Clinton win. Many of the above media outlets were indeed the Clinton campaign’s biggest surrogates throughout the 2016 presidential election.

This past election cycle was unprecedented in terms of the bias and lack of objectivity exercised by the mainstream media. The emphasis on mainstream media blaming “fake news” for Donald Trump’s election is an attempt to distract and divert the feedback loop developed between the Clinton campaign and much of the press. Throughout the 2016 election, the media obsessed over Trump to elevate his candidacy. He was their preferred opponent for Hillary Clinton—after they had thoroughly subverted Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign for the Democratic nomination.

Several journalists from The New York Times, which formally endorsedClinton twice, created propaganda for the Clinton campaign rather than independent journalism. The Times’ Mark Leibovich allowed Clinton campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri to “veto what you didn’t want” from his interview with Clinton. Maggie Haberman was listed by the Clinton campaign as a friendly reporter with whom they could plant stories. Haberman also allowedClinton campaign staff to proofread her pro-Clinton stories.

For the second year in a row, Los Angeles reported the largest number of chronically homeless people in the nation — nearly 13,000 — and 95% of them live outdoors, in cars, tents and encampments, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s report to Congress released Wednesday.

Los Angeles also topped the national register this year in homeless veterans — 2,700 — despite slashing the numbers by a third. It also recorded the most unaccompanied homeless youth — more than 3,000, the report said.

Federal housing officials blamed soaring rents and Congress’ failure to fund affordable housing for a rise in homelessness in Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas and the District of Columbia, which reported the biggest jumps.

“What we saw in Los Angeles and Seattle in particular is consistent with the housing crisis we’re seeing particularly in higher-cost areas on the West Coast,” Norm Suchar, director of the federal housing agency’s homeless assistance programs, said during a phone conference with reporters.

What happened to "let's all come together"?

Seems that the Establishment and Main Stream Media pay lip service to ranting about democracy and country first and it only applies if they win.

Losing turns these bleeding hearts into trolling zombie like creatures who see themselves as victims of the very corrupted system they created.

This is nothing short of basic violation of human rights and a mockery of the criminal justice system.

Julian Assange has been literally locked up in a makeshift prison for going on 4 years for allegedly refusing to wear a condom in a sexual encounter.

One question begs answered. Why on earth did these women consent to having sex sans condom?

Second question. This one is even more pertinent. Why would any government/law enforcement agency be so adamant in pursuing someone for committing an act that millions of males world wide probably commit billions of times without consequence?

This completely insane miscarriage of justice will probably go down in history as one of the silliest and absurd actions by any country (in this case 3) to bring down a whistle blower.

Sweden Finally Questions WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange At Ecuador’s London Embassy

Assange entered the embassy on June 19, 2012 under threat of extradition to Sweden, where he was wanted for questioning on charges of sexual assault. Assange allegedly refused to wear a condom during sex with two women in 2010. He denies this claim and has not been formally charged with any crime.

He was granted asylum by Ecuador amid concerns that Sweden would extradite him to the United States, where it’s believed that he could face decades in prison or even the death penalty under charges brought by a secret, ongoing federal grand jury.

Until recently, Sweden had refused to question Assange at the embassy, insisting that he leave the embassy to travel abroad for questioning. Embassy officials have frequently criticized Sweden’s refusal to travel to the embassy.

“There was no need for the Swedish authorities to delay for over 1,000 days before agreeing to carry out this interview, given that the Swedish authorities regularly question people in Britain and received permission to do so on more than 40 occasions in recent years,” said Guillaume Long, Ecuador’s foreign minister, in an interview with International Business Times published on Monday.

The Guardian’s Esther Addley and David Crouch reported that Ingrid Isgren, Sweden’s deputy chief prosecutor, began questioning Assange on Monday morning. Three days have been set aside for the interview, which will be carried out by an Ecuadorean prosecutor and must follow a list of questions submitted by Sweden earlier this year.

Isgren is allowed to ask Assange to clarify his answers to those questions, but she may not ask any questions not already on that list. Addley and Crouch reported that she plans to ask Assange to submit to a DNA test.

It’s widely believed that Assange’s mental and physical health have deteriorated dramatically from his years of confinement. In September, WikiLeaks released a December 2015 psychosocial medical evaluation of Assange, in which a doctor whose name was redacted by WikiLeaks, wrote: “Mr Assange’s mental health is highly likely to deteriorate over time if he remains in his current situation.”

In February, a United Nations panel ruled that his treatment constitutes “arbitrary detention,” a human rights violation.

US army and CIA may be guilty of war crimes in Afghanistan, says ICC | Law | The Guardian

US armed forces and the CIA may have committed war crimes by torturing detainees in Afghanistan, the international criminal court’s chief prosecutor has said in a report, raising the possibility that American citizens could be indicted even though Washington has not joined the global court.

“Members of US armed forces appear to have subjected at least 61 detained persons to torture, cruel treatment, outrages upon personal dignity on the territory of Afghanistan between 1 May 2003 and 31 December 2014,” according to the report issued by prosecutor Fatou Bensouda’s office on Monday.

The report adds that CIA operatives may have subjected at least 27 detainees in Afghanistan, Poland, Romania and Lithuania to “torture, cruel treatment, outrages upon personal dignity and/or rape” between December 2002 and March 2008.

Most of the alleged abuse happened in 2003-04, the report says.

Prosecutors said they would decide “imminently” whether to seek authorisation to open a full-scale investigation in Afghanistan that could lead to war crimes charges.

Elizabeth Trudeau, the spokeswoman for the State Department, said the US did not believe an ICC investigation was “warranted or appropriate”.

“The United States is deeply committed to complying with the law of war, and we have a robust national system of investigation and accountability that more than meets international standards,” Trudeau said.

A Pentagon spokesman, Navy Capt Jeff Davis, said officials were awaiting further details about the ICC findings before commenting.

Established in 2002, the international criminal court is the world’s first permanent court set up to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. More than 120 countries are members, but superpowers including the US, Russia and China have not signed up.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders on Wednesday;

Donald Trump tapped into the anger of a declining middle class that is sick and tired of establishment economics, establishment politics and the establishment media.

People are tired of working longer hours for lower wages, of seeing decent paying jobs go to China and other low-wage countries, of billionaires not paying any federal income taxes and of not being able to afford a college education for their kids - all while the very rich become much richer.

To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him.

To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him.

We were all wrong,” Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman wrote in Politico’s Playbook newsletter. “That seems obvious, right? But we were more than wrong. We were laughably oblivious. The entire Washington political-media complex completely missed the mark. Not by inches or feet, but by miles.”

Jim Rutenberg added in The New York Times: “The news media by and large missed what was happening all around it, and it was the story of a lifetime. The numbers weren’t just a poor guide for election night — they were an off-ramp away from what was actually happening.”

“The misfire on Tuesday night was about a lot more than a failure in polling,” he added. “It was a failure to capture the boiling anger of a large portion of the American electorate that feels left behind by a selective recovery, betrayed by trade deals that they see as threats to their jobs and disrespected by establishment Washington, Wall Street and the mainstream media.”

Thousands rail against Trump: Protesters march on 101 Freeway in L.A., burn Trump's head in effigy

Thousands of people poured into the streets of downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday night as they forcefully denounced President-elect Donald J. Trump

The mostly young and diverse crowd screamed, “Not my president,” and “Respect all women.” They marched through the city before spilling onto the 101 Freeway, shutting down both directions of traffic near Alameda Street.

By 10:15 p.m., up to 300 people were on the 101 Freeway, drawign a massive response by the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Police Department.

Traffic backed up for miles, and authorities did not provide a timetable for when the freeway would reopen.

Besides being anti-Establishment outsiders one thing Trump and Bernie had in common is their rejection of the "Millionaires and Billionaires" who they rightly claimed owned and rigged the media and political system in this country.

Donald Trump dismantles Hillary Clinton’s big money machine - NationofChange

In the end, Donald Trump defeated big money.

The Republican’s presidential campaign raised less than half of what Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton did. He ran a fraction of the TV ads, even indecisive battleground states.

And although prominent Republican donors came to Trump’s aid during the campaign’s final days, his supportive super PACs and other political groups raised relatively paltry sums when compared to Clinton’s groups.

Somehow, for the volatile, unpredictable New York businessman, that was enough on his way to winning the White House. More than enough.

A swell of white, working class voters, who believed the billionaire when he said he wouldn’t be beholden to special interests, propelled him in a manner that defied polls and the predictions of pundits relying on conventional wisdom for how to win elections.

Trump edged Clinton in the swing states of Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania and snatched Wisconsin, a state expected to serve as Clinton’s bulwark against a Trump surge.

He promised to “drain the swamp” that is Washington, D.C., and its lobbyists and professional politickers.

In a victory speech delivered in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, Trump credited his victory to voters “who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will.”

It seems that a bunch of high powered over paid comedians have lost sight of their place in the world of entertainment.

They are supposed to make people laugh at themselves and sometimes others primarily about the most mundane of our shortcomings as humans.

Instead what we get are a pack of attack dogs who devote the bulk of their shows viciously attacking and demeaning people they (or their bosses) don't agree with. Night after night, week after week we are inundated with a barrage of mostly exaggerated or made up vitriol couched in between a few actual humorous lines.

The bulk of the trash talk this year was aimed at Donald Trump and the 57 million plus "deplorable"
Americans who elected him president; in spite of the "shock and awe" blitz he was subjected to.

That in itself should be a clue that what these comedians are doing is a big waste of air time and our time (the audience) and maybe it's time they get back to what they do best; make people laugh.

It starts with the big guns like;

This was something the country needed. Draining the swamp as Trump aptly put it.

The process reminds of the days back when mom used to shove a spoonful of castor oil down me at least once a month whether I needed it or not. She said it was to keep me "regular."

I see the similarities because the Establishment is suffering from a sever case of constipation; bloated and gassy, filled with corrupt self serving people who gorge themselves on the countries wealth, leaving little to none for those countless others who did all the work.

If you need an example we need look no further than 2008 when the people that Hillary was giving $200,000 a pop pep talks to cleaned out the nations wealth in one felt swoop and suffered little to no consequences. In fact they were rewarded for their recklessness much like Hillary was expecting to get her comes-uppin in return for all that pay for play she was so good at.

This is hard to swallow for those who have been living the good life at the expense of the middle class Main Street Americans but in the long run; just like castor oil, the country will feel much better.

Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump marks the end of a decidedly tumultuous campaign season for Clinton, who faced a host of setbacks, many of her own making. Early exit polls from CNN showed 58 percent of the white vote went to Trump. White men and women voted for Trump 63 and 53 percent, respectively. He won whites with college degrees (49 percent) and without (67 percent).

Say it, “President Donald J. Trump” three times. Now say it again.

In a stunning upset – well, stunning if you’ve been an avid reader of news coverage of the election and the polling – the former reality-TV star was zooming toward 270 electoral votes when Dem candidate Hillary Clinton called him to concede.

Trump’s campaign placed a winning, long-shot bet that a shrinking demographic – white working-class voters — would join with rank-and-file Republicans to make up a majority of the electorate.

On the issues, he hung his hopes on two hot-button issues — immigration and international trade — that served him well in the primary season but seemed unlikely to pay off in the general election.

Just to lengthen the odds, he insulted Hispanics, Muslim Americans, physically challenged Americans, and boasted about groping women in comments caught on tape on a certain bus heading to a certain infotainment show. Then, he publicly insulted women who came forward to claim he’d groped them too, saying some of them weren’t sufficiently attractive for him to have done that.

No matter, in the end. Trump hit millions of voters on a gut level, with macho talk about a “rigged system” and building that wall, and one catch phrase “Make America Great Again” that, combined with promise to bring back coal, steel and manufacturing jobs, enveloped voters in a cloud of nostalgia.

Trump got lucky in his opponent, Hillary Clinton the Untrusted, who, in the end, could never polish up her image — though a last-minute FBI investigation would pretty much kill off any politician’s image, even if it were withdrawn at the very last minute.

Communications majors will replay the video for years to come of the moment of dawning awareness on the news channels when anchors began to speak the words out loud that a Trump victory was possible, shortly before the polls closed on the West Coast. Over at Fox News, the crew was a model of not gloating, starting at about 10:45 PM ET, when Fox called North Carolina for Trump. If you’re Trump’s handlers, “You’ve got to say this night is going directly according to plan,” Megyn Kelly said, with rising but controlled astonishment.

Cut to Brett Baier and Bill Hemmer at the touch-able map of the states.

“You look at the map — it’s starting to line up,” said Baier, on about the same note as Kelly.
“It’s not far-fetched. It’s quite rational,” said Hemmer, his voice rising to a slightly higher range. “…I’d put my focus on Michigan. And if that happens, he’s the President of the United States. “

Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert’s live late-night election special on Showtime, kicking off at 11 PM ET, quickly became a wake:

“We all now feel the way Rudy Giuliani looks,” Colbert said.

“I’m not sure if it’s a comedy show at this point,” the CBS late-night host told The Circus’s Mark Halperin, when Florida was called for Trump. “I think we’re in the middle of a documentary right now. Am I in your f*cking documentary?”

“He’s now in the doorstep of 270 [Electoral College votes],” Halperin offered, turning the knife, on the now un-ironic Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going to Clean Up This Sh*t?”

“Wow, that’s a horrifying prospect. I cannot put a happy face on that,” a stricken

Charles Ortel: Clinton Foundation Is Largest Charity Fraud | The Daily Caller

Wall Street investment analyst Charles Ortel called the Clinton Foundation “the largest unprosecuted charity fraud ever attempted” before all the newly-exposed emails from campaign chairman John Podesta’s account were released from WikiLeaks.

The leaks have fortified his findings. The Wall Street investment analyst, who retired at 46 and prides himself on researching complex problems like General Electric and the credit crisis, has been fly-specking the Clinton Foundation since the spring of 2015.

Ortel explains why he believes the Clinton Foundation is a “crooked charity cooking the books” with over $2 billion dollars in revenue, in this exclusive video interview for The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The Clintons, according to Ortel, have figured out how to turn their public service into a business. This charity is “a perfect gathering place and a front” to act as if you are helping others, when in fact they bring powerful people together, concocting deals and making people rich, including the Clintons, Ortel says. Wikileaks BOMBSHELL Exposes Extent Of Clinton Corruption

The attacks on the planet, civil liberties and human rights are at the core of the American profit-driven, hierarchically-based governing system. While the ultra-rich keep prospering, large swaths of the population are disenfranchised. The tenures of Republican President Ronald Reagan and Democratic President Bill Clinton largely fortified and accelerated these assaults, exemplifying the bipartisan collusion of the elites against regular Americans.

Much has been written about the unprecedented inequality in the United States. An additional marker of a society in crisis is the status of the mental health of its population. With policies that have led to the privatization of prisons and health care, the deregulation of an already privatized pharmaceutical industry and a defunding of public mental health clinics, the nation is currently plagued by a mental health crisis that is reflected in a devastating heroin epidemic.

But how can a system maintain legitimacy while riddled with such gross corruption and inequality?

WikiLeaks’ archive of emails taken from the Gmail account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair continue to shed new light on the close relationships between the Democratic Party elite and the U.S. government.

The latest wave of John Podesta’s emails to be published by WikiLeaks has thrust into the spotlight Peter Kadzik, a well-connected Washington attorney who currently serves as an assistant attorney general at the Justice Department’s Office of Legislative Affairs.

The tweet highlighted an email Kadzik sent to Podesta on May 19, 2015, warning him of a congressional hearing and updating the team on the State Department’s progress in publishing Clinton’s emails in response to Freedom of Information Act requests.
