LET THEM BUY FISH

Suppose a man is given some money to start a business. This will help him to earn more tomorrow and maybe one day provide employment to some more men. This is more like the saying, 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime'.
House Republicans are ideologically incapable of imagining a world where people can't find a job because there aren't enough of them. In other words, they won't let themselves understand the world we live in. They think food stamp use is at record-highs, because people are drug addicts or just shiftless -- not because the recovery has been so weak. This insistence that our problems are all supply, and no demand, is why Republicans have opposed any and all attempts to stimulatethe economy, either monetary or fiscal. It's bad economics, and worse morality.

This is more like the saying, 'Give a man money to buy a fish and you feed him for a day and also benefit all of those who participated in the process of getting him the food. Teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime' and do little to nothing more in helping the economy other than making a few bucks for the people who participated in making the reel"
