DOES THE FDA CARE?

THE MANUFACTURERS DON'T

Now that Affordable Healthcare is taking a bite out of the Emergency Room boom Romney like so much it looks like the industry is going to start paying more attention to prevention instead of intervention.

I'm sure the "Ron Pauls" are going to have a "hiss fit" about Big Government infringing our rights to die of heart attacks. First they take our guns preventing us from blowing our (and others) heads off. Now they want our fried butter sticks. What next? Sounds  like a reasonable gripe to me? If you live in an asylum, that is.


 
One of the FDA’s core regulatory functions is ensuring that food, including all substances added to food, is safe,” said Michael Taylor, the FDA’s deputy commissioner for foods and veterinary medicine. “Food manufacturers have voluntarily decreased trans fat levels in many foods in recent years, but a substantial number of products still contain partially hydrogenated oils, which are the major source of trans fat in processed food.”
