New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday that NY State will begin requiring travelers from states where the number of coronavirus cases are surging to quarantine for 14 days.
The move came just before Cuomo went on with his Brother, Chris Cuomo on CNN and blamed the federal government and Trump for NY deaths, while being dealt softball questions that did not address the nursing home horror.
In NY State, Cuomo approved the routing of overflow Covid19 patients to ‘empty’ beds in clinics and nursing homes. The subsequent spread of the virus in these facilities accounted for close to 1/3 of all NY deaths and is directly tied into the decision to mingle the most at-risk population, with the most risky-to-them population.
Nursing homes were the first to go into lockdown, with elderly residents not allowed visitors or any outside element for three months.
The headlines of children not allowed to see dying parents, but infected people being brought into the same facility caused much anger towards Cuomo. Now, he is deflecting – as he did with the nursing homes, he is now doing to other states. Blaming and punishing them.
There are eight States currently on the list, released this morning and single out anyone, returning NY residents or tourists from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah.
Meanwhile, New Jersey and Connecticut are suggesting a quarantine for people
who are arriving from ‘hard-hit’ states, but admitted last night that there is currently no enforcement procedure that can help ensure compliance.
