FORD REPORTED ASSAULT IN 2012; NO ACTION TAKEN

The alleged assault was reported by Ford in 2012 when she disclosed it to her therapist. At that time there was ample opportunity to convey the information to law enforcement which any therapist worth their salt would encourage their client to do; or in some states be compelled to file the report themselves. Especially since the alleged assault occurred when she was a minor.

Ford said in an interview with The Washington Post published Sunday that she told no one of the incident in any detail until 2012, when she was in couples therapy with her husband. By Friday afternoon, the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport was trending on Twitter, with thousands of people coming forward to explain their hesitation to contact authorities.
