Welcome to Biden/Obama country where BS keeps on piling up in Joe's basement

Joe Biden vows to completely outlaw new production of gas-powered cars if elected

As part of a massive new $2 trillion climate plan unveiled Tuesday, presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden promised to shift America away from gas-powered vehicles through executive action on the first day of his presidency.
What are the details?
In the first key element of his campaign's plan for a "clean energy revolution," the former vice president vowed to "take executive action on Day 1 to not just reverse all of the damage Trump has done, but go further and faster."

Here's what the plan states with the main point in bold:
Day 1 of the Biden Administration is going to be very busy! To immediately make progress on his climate agenda, Biden will take actions including requiring aggressive methane pollution limits for new and existing oil and gas operations; developing rigorous new fuel economy standards aimed at ensuring 100% of new sales for light- and medium-duty vehicles will be zero emissions and annual improvements for heavy duty vehicles; protecting America's natural treasures by permanently protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other areas impacted by President Trump's attack on federal lands and waters; and banning new oil and gas leasing on public lands and waters. (emphasis mine)
Should it be carried out, the move to develop fuel economy standards equivalent to electric vehicles would effectively outlaw the sale and production of gas-powered vehicles in the United States.
While the campaign's proposal does not say exactly when Biden's 100% electric vehicle mandate would be implemented, it suggests that developing the new standards will be a major priority of his energy policy early on in his presidency.

The editorial board at Issues & Insights notes that House Democrats have already established a timetable in their new climate change plan, which calls for mandating 100% "clean" vehicles by 2035.

Anything else?

Eliminating the internal combustible engine has long been a wish list item for progressive politicians, but regular Americans have been far less keen on jumping on the electric car bandwagon.
According to the I&I editorial board, "plug-in electrics account for 0.5% of cars on the road, and made up less than 2% of new vehicles sold in 2019."
Besides, critics argue, the technology behind electric cars in terms of its effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions has not been perfected.
According to a 2018 study conducted by Politico — not exactly a right-wing news source — having more electric cars on the road could actually increase pollution, due to the emissions that come from producing electricity.
Another study by the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute found that when electricity production was factored in, the average plug-in produces as much CO2 over its lifetime as a gas-powered car that gets 55 miles per gallon. In other words, the impact is somewhat negligible.

Wecome to Biden/Obama country where "racism" and violence are OK if you're Black

POLL: Which state is the worst place to be in during COVID?
The feud began when McEnany answered a question Thursday at the White House press briefing about a comment President Donald Trump made about the disparity between black Americans killed by police officers and white Americans.
"By population percentages, black people are about three times more likely than white people to die in a police encounter," said a reporter. "If the president won't even acknowledge that, how can he fix the problem?"
"The president has routinely acknowledged and expressed the absolute atrocity of the case of George Floyd, and his heart goes out to that family still," McEnany responded.
"He was noting a fact, um, that there were, when you look at unarmed killings with police interactions in this country, that you had nine unarmed black individuals who were fatally shot, and 19 unarmed white individuals, that's down from 38 and 32, respectively, in 2015, so numbers have actually come down since the Obama administration," she continued.
"He was making that point, but one point he wants to strongly make is this: That black men and women who die of homicide, they are likely to die of homicide at eight times greater than that of white individuals and Hispanics combined. That's the rate combined," McEnany said.
"So that's an extraordinary thing that we want to look at," she concluded. "I've listed for you the names of these kids who died across this country. It is unacceptable, and under this president, he'll take action and the derelict mayor of Chicago should step up and ask for federal help, because she's doing a very poor job at securing her streets."
Lightfoot responds to McEnany   Lightfoot responded in short tweet meant to mock the press secretary.
"Karen, watch your mouth," she tweeted simply with a screenshot of McEnany's comments.
The president's 2020 campaign digital director fired back at Lightfoot with a collection of statistics on the crime affecting the residents of Chicago.
"Black people are being murdered at a record rate in Chicago. The violence and death is out of control... 64 shot & 11 killed just last weekend. 373 have been killed just this year, a 35% increase," tweeted Gary Coby.

Here are the comments from Kayleigh McEnany:

Justice Ruth Ginsburg reveals diagnosis, treatment of liver cancer

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg revealed the tragic news on Friday that she is once again receiving treatment for cancer.
After being hospitalized for a suspected infection earlier this week, Ginsburg released a statement concerning her current state of health.
According to Ginsburg’s statement, she actually received the new cancer diagnosis in February when medical scans found cancerous growths on her liver. She began chemotherapy treatment in May.
“My most recent scan on July 7 indicated a significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease,” she continued. “I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment.”
The 87-year-old justice refuted rumors that recent hospitalizations were related to the cancer diagnosis, clarifying that she was admitted to hospital for treatment of gall stones and an infection.
Though she said that she will continue chemotherapy sessions every two weeks, she still has no plans of retiring. “I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam,” she remarked. “I remain fully able to do that.”
Ginsburg has suffered a number of health scares in recent years. Fox News reported on Friday, “In May, Ginsburg was hospitalized with an infection caused by a gallstone. In November [2019], she was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital after experiencing chills and a fever. In 2018, she was hospitalized with three fractured ribs after a fall at her office.”
This is also Ginsburg’s fifth bout with cancer. She received treatment for colon cancer in 1999 and had a pancreatic tumor removed in 2009. In 2019, she completed three weeks of radiation treatment after another cancerous tumor was discovered on her pancreas. In December 2019 she underwent an operation to remove cancerous lesions found on her lung.

Welcome to Biden/Obama country where Democrats are colluding with China to bring down US economy

The troubling reason why Biden is so soft on China

Why is Joe Biden so warm toward China?

Last week, Biden raised eyebrows when he shrugged off concerns over the China threat. “Come on, man,” Biden said. “I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they’re not competition for us.”

Perhaps Biden’s insouciant attitude toward the Chinese government has to do with the fact that his family does not consider them competitors but business partners.

In 2013, then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden flew aboard Air Force Two to China. Less than two weeks later, Hunter Biden’s firm inked a $1 billion private equity deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China. The deal was later expanded to $1.5 billion. In short, the Chinese government funded a business that it co-owned along with the son of a sitting vice president.

If it sounds shocking that a vice president would shape US-China policy as his son — who has scant experience in private equity — clinched a coveted billion-dollar deal with an arm of the Chinese government, that’s because it is.

Until the publication of my book, “Secret Empires,” no one knew the deal took place. Indeed, it took me and a team of seasoned investigators nearly two years to unearth and report the facts.

Without the aid of subpoena power, here’s what we know. The businesses of Hunter Biden and his partners created a series of LLCs involved in multibillion-dollar private equity deals with companies owned by the Chinese government.

The centerpiece of these deals is Rosemont Seneca Partners, an investment firm controlled by Hunter Biden and his associates: Chris Heinz, who is John Kerry’s stepson, and Heinz’s longtime associate Devon Archer. The trio founded Rosemont Seneca in 2009 and quickly began making deals through a series of overlapping entities under the Rosemont name.

AG William Barr: China has launched ‘economic blitzkrieg’ to topple US

Attorney General William Barr warned on Thursday that the Chinese Communist Party has launched an “economic blitzkrieg” to topple the US from its perch as the world’s superpower, laying out the threat as the most important issue of this century and calling for the free world to join together in a “whole of society approach” against it.
“How the United States responds to this challenge will have historic implications and will determine whether the United States and its liberal democratic allies will continue to shape their own destiny or whether the CCP and its autocratic tributaries will control the future,” Barr said during a speech at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Mich.
“The People’s Republic of China is now engaged in an economic blitzkrieg — an aggressive, orchestrated, whole-of-government (indeed, whole-of-society) campaign to seize the commanding heights of the global economy and to surpass the United States as the world’s preeminent superpower,” he continued.
By exceeding World Trade Organization quotas on domestic output, “it is clear that the PRC seeks not merely to join the ranks of other advanced industrial economies, but to replace them altogether.
“The General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping, who has centralized power to a degree not seen since the dictatorship of Mao Zedong, now speaks openly of China moving ‘closer to center stage,’ ‘building a socialism that is superior to capitalism,’ and replacing the American Dream with the ‘Chinese solution.'”
Barr said China’s “Made in China 2025” initiative seeks to dominate high-tech industries like robotics and information technology and electric vehicles, which “poses a real threat to US technological leadership.”

Welcome to America where We Hold These Truths: Our Answer To The Mob

The Biden/Obama Democrats are being sent a message that should not be ignored

Welcome to Biden/Obama country where Georgia Gov. Kemp sues Atlanta to block mandatory mask rule

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is suing Atlanta to block the city from enforcing its mandate to wear a mask in public and other rules related to the COVID-19 pandemic, saying in a court filing that the city's leadership was illegally circumventing state executive orders with their own edicts.
Kemp and Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, in a suit filed in state court late Thursday, argued that Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has overstepped her authority and must obey Kemp's executive orders under state law.
Kemp "seeks to have this Court make a declaration that Mayor Bottoms' executive orders are more restrictive and contradictory to his executive orders, and therefore, Mayor Bottoms' COVID-related executive orders are suspended," the lawsuit states.
Bottoms had announced on July 10 that Atlanta would go back to "phase 1" status as coronavirus cases surged, arguing the state had been "recklessly" reopened too soon. The move threatened to shutter restaurant dining rooms and non-essential city facilities. At the same time, Bottoms claimed her orders were not "inconsistent" with Kemp's.
“This lawsuit is on behalf of the Atlanta business owners and their hardworking employees who are struggling to survive during these difficult times,” Kemp said in a statement. “These men and women are doing their very best to put food on the table for their families while local elected officials shutter businesses and undermine economic growth.”
As of Thursday evening, COVID-19 had claimed the lives of over 3,100 people in Georgia and there were at least 2,700 people
hospitalized across the state due to the virus. In Fulton County, which includes Atlanta, at least 333 people have died from the new coronavirus.

The suit comes a day after Kemp clarified his executive orders to expressly block Atlanta and at least 14 other local governments across the state from requiring people to wear face coverings.

Welcome to Biden/Obama Country where people need to eat so they kill people.

What was Ocasio-Cortez’s reason for this? "Well, obviously, people need to eat, so they’re shooting other people."

That was New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez speaking at a virtual town hall on Thursday. The city she represents — one in which police are actively in the process of being defunded to the tune of $1 billion, and with an already overstretched police force — hasn’t quite looked suburban in the interim.

On Monday, Davell Gardner Jr., a 1-year-old shot in the abdomen at a barbecue in a Brooklyn park the night before, died at Maimonides Medical Center, ABC News reported. He was in his stroller when the fatal bullet struck him, according to The New York Times.

“The baby, in addition to three men, was shot around 11:35 p.m. Sunday in front of Raymond Bush Playground at Madison Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police sources said,” the New York Post reported Monday.
