Private citizens do not need a security clearance to exercise free speech and to claim you do is "hogwash." In fact, it puts most of us (private citizens) at a disadvantage when we allow a select few political appointees (hacks) access to information not accessible publicly.
These "political appointees" are not rank and file government employees and there is no rational reason to allow them to retain their security clearance(s) issued when they were employed by the government which allow them to use these privileges to promote political agendas for their own personal gain.
Revoking these unnecessary privileges in no way restricts their rights of free speech as some of them would claim. There is absolutely no relationship between the two.
