And none of them has to do with defending the Homeland or repelling an invasion by foreign armies.

The US goes to, and starts wars because there's a cabal of very rich and powerful people who make a lot of money from wars.

IKE labeled them the "Military Industrial Complex" and warned us to be wary of them because these people would place Americans in harms way just to make a buck.

History shows that Ike was right but we did not heed his warnings and are now enmeshed in "endless" wars and conflicts that cost some Americans their lives while others are rolling in cash;

National security and warfare are big business. The U.S. government spent $598.5 billion, over half of its discretionary budget, on military and weapons technology in 2015. The 100 largest arms-producing and military services companies across the globe sold an estimated $370.7 billion worth of arms that year.
