THE PROBLEM WITH INFLATED EGOS

People with over sized egos seem to fall off their pedestals because they believe that they are different than the rest of us. Being "special" means they don't need to play by the rules they espouse for everyone else.  Should we fault them for that? Maybe. But we probably should also look at the part we play in creating these downfalls since we are the one's who put them up on those pedestals and come out to cheer and praise and idealize them.

The only true hero is one who doesn't buy into the soap opera but see themselves as just one of us, no more, no less. We could do ourselves and tragic figures like Petraeus, Paterno, Tiger, Armstrong, ad nausea a favor and look for other ways to entertain ourselves.

Sooner or later bloated egos tend to explode.

another casualty of hero worship ;
